In February 2016 when we got near the top of the long cold windy climb up the hill so we could look at this gorgeous horse carved into a nearby hillside, there was a man just standing there. He was so still that initially I thought he was a statue; but no, he was a human being flying a drone over the Horse to take pictures of it. This moment of confusion on my part ended up being in the song, but then I thought no more about it.

I did a search on 'Uffington Horse' to make sure I knew the correct name of the area and so forth. (You can read more about it at Wiltshire White Horses: The Uffington White Horse). And for some reason I ended up at youtube and learned that flying drones over the Uffington Horse IS A THING! Now, I'm wondering if the man flying the drone in my video is the Wiltshire Man from youtube. It's far enough away that I cannot tell for certain.

And a sta-tue, a sha-dow, a man.
We've ad-ded our prints to the sheep's in the chalk;

We let ourselves in; set the gate down again The wind drowning all that we say.

The wind pushes the drone above Uffington’s Horse As the man gets his focus just right.
His view from above is the one that we love,
His camera, a bird on its flight.

The Uf-fing-ton Horse curves be-low us ab-stract; It’s a swash and a thought of a canter.
We’ve seen it today; then our car drove away And the crows fill the skies with their banter.
