Finally I am getting to share this song with you! I wrote it in the week following the lunar eclipse thanks to an excellent Soulwriters prompt from Jim Mahaffey: "eclipsed by the moment." I was actually writing cards and letters the evening of the eclipse and kept running outside to gaze at the moon as the eclipse progressed. I think I mentioned the eclipse several times in the cards themselves. It was such a glorious sight!

It is SUPER groovy--like the most seventies thing I have ever recorded. I feel like there should be some bell bottoms and corduroy going on. It's not disco though--just some groovy groovy jazz. And a clarinet with heavily ethereal reverb. I think recording the clarinet and --oh my god the mixing-- is what delayed the completion of this project. Also, the song is sexy and lasts a good long time. Make of that what you will if you need a mood for a while.
